Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is Corian® stain resistant?
A: Corian® is stain resistant. Because Corian® is non-porous, stains can't penetrate the surface, so it's easy to clean and maintain. Unlike natural stone, Corian® never needs to be sealed.
Q: Is Corian® heat resistant?
A: Placing a hot pot directly on Corian® is not recommended. Although Corian® remains stable and undamaged in temperatures up to 212 F (100 C), high heat or flame will damage your surface. In most cases, this damage can be repaired. To protect your Corian® from heat damage, always use a hot pad or trivet with rubber feet when using hot pots, or heat generating appliances like electric skillets or electric cooking pots.
Q: How do I clean my Corian®?
A: Corian® is easy to clean. Soapy water or ammonia-based cleaner is all that is necessary for day-to-day care for your Corian®. Minor scratches, burns, or discoloration are also easy to repair using Soft Scrub Cleanser and Scotch Brite (green) pad. Refer to your Corian® Care Kit for directions or contact Cameo Countertops.
Q: Can I cut directly on my Corian®?
A: It is recommended that you always use a cutting board when cutting on your Corian® since the knife blade will scratch the surface of your Corian®.
Q: Who do I call if I notice a crack, chip, or any other damage to my Corian®?
A: If you notice that your Corian® is cracked or damaged in any way, and it is still under the original 10-year warranty, contact DuPont directly at 1-800-426-7426
Q: How is my warranty registered?
A: Your warranty is processed by Cameo Countertops, once your installation has been completed.
Q: Is my warranty transferable?
A: All warranties are registered to the installation address; therefore, the warranty is transferable to the homeowner.
Q: What care and maintenance does Zodiaq® require?
A: Zodiaq® quartz surfaces are very easy to maintain because they are durable, nonporous and chemical resistant. They require no sealants or waxes to retain their lustrous gloss and ultra-smooth surface. Routine cleaning may be done with a damp cloth or paper towel and, if necessary, a small amount of non-bleach, non-abrasive cleanser.
Q: Will Zodiaq® withstand heat, scratches and stains?
A: Zodiaq® is resistant to heat, scratching and stains. However, the use of trivets or hot pads is recommended. A cutting board should be used with slicing or chopping, especially with a serrated knife. Spills should be wiped up quickly; non-abrasive cleaning pads and non-bleach cleaning products may be used to remove stubborn or dried spills.
Q: Can Zodiaq® be used for food preparation areas?
A: Zodiaq® is non-porous and can be used in the kitchen or wherever food is prepared.
Q: Who do I call if I notice a crack, chip or any other damage to my Zodiaq®?
A: If you notice that your Zodiaq® is cracked or damaged in any way, and it is still under the original 10-year warranty, contact DuPont directly at 1-800-426-7426.

Sealers:
Sealers are designed to prevent staining or natural stone. Staining occurs when liquids or other substances are absorbed through the natural pores of stone.
A sealer will not make your stone bullet proof. It won't prevent scratching or etching. A sealer will, however, help prevent possible stains from being absorbed by the stone.
There are many sealing products available to the customer. Cameo Countertops has chosen DryTreat - Stain Proof as our sealer of choice, as it provides the consumer a 15-year warranty, and does not require yearly application. DryTreat Stain Proof is Warranty certificates will be mailed to the end user 4-6 weeks after installation. Please call for more information.
